INFORMATION: BLOODLINES
- DO YOU REALLY WANT TO FIND YOUR BIRTH PARENTS?

Bloodlines is the true story of Celia Honnywill's search for her birth parents. At the age of twenty-three she needs a passport for a trip abroad and is shocked to discover that she was adopted when she was just ten days old. But adoption records are sealed and confidential and she is obliged to accept that identification of her natural parents must remain an unsolved mystery.

Then by chance, in 2002, she learns that the Adoption Laws have been changed and she is able to launch on a quest for her true heritage. Though confronted by innumerable dead ends her determination never falters and finally she locates her biological mother living in Spain.

Following just one meeting, the shocking news arrives that her mother has been found lying dead in her home; blood covers the floor and is splashed liberally across the walls. The Spanish police seal the house as a crime scene and Celia, unwittingly a participant in the drama, must await an encounter with her new, unknown family.

REVIEW BLOOD LINES

Bloodlines is an amazing story about one determined woman's efforts to discover who her birth mother was. Less strong people would have given up the search very quickly but Celia Honnywill's determination carried her into many different dark corners before she discovered the truth and found - and met - her birth mother and some relatives she had never known existed.

How sad that she didn't have much time to enjoy them. She died in July 2009 after fighting ovarian cancer with the same guts that she brought to finding out about her ancestry.

This book should surely encourage other adoptees to do their own research into their origins.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Celia Honnywill enjoyed a privileged background - brought up in the English countryside with loving parents, ponies and pets, she lacked for virtually nothing. She dedicates Bloodlines to the memory of her adoptive parents Eleanor and Dick Honnywill to whom she says she owes everything - except her birth! Sadly, Celia died in her home town of Estepona, Spain in September 2009.

Her last words to her publisher were that the most wonderful moments of her life were at last finding her birth mother, her new family and seeing her book published. 'I hope my book Bloodlines will encourage others to undertake a similar exciting journey.'
